Kam na bane ni mauri

The Public Service Office (PSO) is mandated to provide strategic leadership and policy direction in public service human resource management and development. The increasing customer expectations necessitate a continuous review of the services being offered by the PSO to meet ever-increasing needs of our customers.

There is strong Government’s desire to renew how the public service operates. This is clearly indicated in the Policy Statement delivered by His Excellency the President on the second meeting of the 11th Parliament in 2016 where Government relies on public service employees for delivery of services to the public and the overall development of our nation.

The challenge of achieving Kiribati national development objectives demands that the Public Service become more focused, efficient and pro-actively responsive to customer needs. These challenges must be met with strategic approach to achieve desired changes within the Public Service culture and management. The Public Service Office as an Agency of Government must drive these changes within the Public Service and to do it properly.  For there is no limit to how much we can improve and as public servants, we should be above reproach and should set the benchmark for best practices.

Let us all work together as a “Team” to make a difference for our country and our people.
